The Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship offers courses for the Commerce stream of the Foundation Certificate programme, a wide range of vocational certificate and diploma qualifications, plus Commerce undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. For students seeking careers in the tourism and hospitality industry, a one year Certificate programme and two years Diploma programme are available to prepare the students to be part of the industry. Also offered to students who envision being office administrators or young entrepreneurs are, the two years Diploma programmes in Business and in Office Management. For the non-vocational programmes, Academic pathways for future accountants, economists, general managers and marketing managers are offered through the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree programmes whereby students can undertake a major in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Management or Marketing and a minor in any of these disciplines or Commercial Law, or in any discipline from another faculty. Students who do well in the B.Com programme and achieve an average of 70% or better from the courses in their major, and have an interest in doing research are encouraged to do the B.Com Honours programme. The Faculty also offers the opportunity for graduates to return, later in their career, to study a different commerce discipline towards a graduate diploma.

Samoa Tourism Authority and the National University of Samoa (NUS) signed the MOA on 22nd of September, 2020. This date marks a successful event to formalize the mutual agreement amid the two parties. The objective is to ensure successful implementation of the Introduction to Hospitality Training for the Tourism Sector which coincides and supports the needs of the tourism and hospitality sector under the Government Stimulus Programme. The National University of Samoa is pleased to announce that a Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with the Samoa Institute of Accountants (SIA). SIA is the regulatory and professional body for the accounting profession in Samoa. Susana Laulu, Chair of the SIA Board, spoke of SIA’s long-held desire to assist the NUS Accounting Programmes to meet international standards and to improve the quality of our graduates. The Vice-Chancellor, Aiono Alec Ekeroma, in return thanked SIA for the much needed assistance in expertise from the local accounting fraternity which will enhance collaboration with the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship in training accounting professionals that meets Samoa’s and the region’s needs.
