The NUS libraries hold a wide variety of resources for study, information and research. Of particular note is the Samoan and Pacific collection, which is arguably the best on the island.
The NUS libraries contain:
Reference collection: encyclopaedias, dictionaries and other reference books
Reserve collection: highly used items (kept behind the desk)
General collection: academic texts, etc.
Law collection: Samoa law books, Australian law books and reports, etc.
Journals: Australian Geographic, overseas publications
Samoa and Pacific collection: this includes some audio visual material and a collection of theses relating to Samoan and Pacific topics
Junior collection: both non-fiction and fiction, for use by the education students

Law collection (Australia Pacific Twinning Programme since 2008)
Language collections: Japanese and Chinese language materials
Newspaper archives: Samoa Observer and Newsline
Samoa Times ( 1984-1993) Bound volumes and DVD – pdf –E-copies with the PAMBU – ANU – since 2011 . (We have the pdf copies and wish to place it here)

Special Collections
The Vaaomanu Photographs from the National Library of New Zealand ( since 2000 ).
This consists of Old Samoan black and white photographs, mostly taken by New Zealand photographer A Tattersal in the early 1900s.
Law Collection
The NUS now has an extensive law collection available for all lawyers and legal practitioners in Samoa. A great deal of collection has been gifted to the National University of Samoa by the Australian Attorney General’s Department through the Pacific Law Library Twinning Program.

Legal practitioners pay $60 per year for a subscription that allows them to borrow from the law collection.This collection includes: Legal dictionaries e.g. Stroud’s Judicial Dictionary.
Encyclopaedias e.g. Australian Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents.
Sets of Law Reports including Australian Law Reports; Australian Argus Law Reports; All England Law Reports; Chancery Law Reports (England); Probate Law Reports (England); Queens/Kings Bench Law Reports (England); Appeal Cases Law Reports (England).
Legal textbooks including subjects such as Contracts; Company Law; Criminal Law; Evidence; Financial Law; Intellectual Property; Taxation Law and Torts.
