The processing of applications and coordination of elective placements are the responsibilities of the Faculty of Medicine. The supervision of clinical attachments remains the responsibility of senior clinicians/physicians at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole (TTM) teaching hospital, of the National Health Services.

There are limited placements available and all applications go through an extensive approval process that could take up to 30 days.

All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt and an official response regarding the outcome of your application will be provided no later than 4 weeks from the date of receipt.

A non-refundable fee of  $300 is to be paid upfront for all students accepted into the programme.

2)      General Surgery & Orthopedics

3)      Pediatrics

4)      OBGYN

5)      Accident, Emergency & Acute Primary Care

6)      Anesthesia & Intensive Care


Elective Period: Between 2-8 weeks. (Minimum of 2 weeks and maximum of 8 weeks)

Note: Except for Rural Medicine and Mental Health where there is a restricted number most probably between 1-2, there are three (3) placements per month for all other attachments.
