Regulations for the Intermediate Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (2012) (Subject to change)
An applicant shall be eligible for admission to the Intermediate Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning if that applicant has:
• a score of 4 or less in School Certificate English, Mathematics and Science, or
• a score of 5 or less in PSSC/SSLC English, Mathematics and either Chemistry or Physics.
Applications from mature entrants without the above scores will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean or the Dean's nominee.
Mode of Study
Not less than four semesters.
Unless credit is granted under the Recognition of Prior Learning/Credit Statute, this programme consists of seventeen courses: TCS105, TMA103, TMA104, TRA010, TRA011, TRA012, TRA013, TRA103, TRA104, TRA106, TRA107, TRA108, TTD101, TTD102, TCS206, TTD203, TTD204.
Four or five courses per semester. An underload or an overload has to be approved and signed for on the Enrolment form by the Dean or the Dean's nominee.
To be awarded an Intermediate Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning a student must pass the seventeen courses specified in 4 above.
These regulations are effective from 1 January, 2012.
